What to expect?

A lot of fun combined with learning about culture and history. Don't get afraid, we won't bore you with long lectures but we will make our best to present some facts in the most captivating way! The culture of savoir-vivre, what the kings ate, wore in the epoque of revolution and present is in fancy way- that is what we are going to prepare for you!

What to bring?
 

Matrasses, sleeping bags, comfortable shoes since we will walk a lot!, umbrella, camera, something typical for your country for EU night together with preparation of a local clothes, song, dance, habit, etc

What about the way back home?

Our SU starts in Brussels and after 12 days finishes its way in Paris. You need to get back home from Paris on your own.

How to get to Brussels?

Brussels as dubble capital it's quite easy reachible city in Europe by all the means of transport. The city itself is bilingual, everything here is in French and in Dutch (name of the streets f.ex.). You can communicate in those two languages but moreover everybody speeks here English as well, so don't worry;)

There are several wats to get here:



BY PLANE

International Airport of Brussels Zaventem for national airlines 

Charleroi Airport South Brussels (it's about 60minutes by shuttle bus from Brussels) for low cost airlines liek Ryanair, Wizzair, Easyjet, etc.

Eventually, there are some low cost airlines flying to airport in Liege, Atwerpen (Anvers) or Ostende (all in Belgium) or from Netherlands like airport in Maasricht or Eidhoven but then you need to take the train to Brussels for about 20-40euros one way.



BY TRAIN

Brussels has three main railways stations Brussel Centraal, Brussel Zuid, Brussel Noord where national and international trains stop in. The schedule for national trains you may check on www.sncb.be . The international connections between Benelux countries and not only like Thalys, TGV, Eurostar you may check on www.b-europe.be (The earlier booked, the lowest price:)



BY BUS

There are some international bus companies like eurolines (www.eurolines.com) or Megabus (www.magabus.com) and other national transport companies but you need to check them in your own country. In case of questions, we may of course help you:)



BY CAR why not?



BY BIKE

There were some crazy people doing that for some SUs in AEGEE but nobody ever dared to come to Brussels, well not yet?;P But if you plan it, please make sure you will have enough forces get to Brussels on time and we remind you that SU shouldn't be counted as 12 days to have a rest from the bike trip:P

What is so special about that Summer University?

We offer you a cultural visit within 12 awesome days in two countries with the most famous European capitals : well known cipital of love and world fashion - Paris and Brussels - capital of Europe and center of european politics. Moreover during our SU, you will have opportunity to visit Bruges, as it called Venise of North Europe, tiny city full of romantic bridges and Versailles, the most famous former headquarter of French kings in Europe. Summing up, you will learn a lot about culture and history of North-West Europe!
